With the world in lockdown throughout 2020 musicians have looked beyond their home horizons
to find new opportunities.
Hemispheres is a spellbinding EP created by musicians from Australia & the UK, who’ve utilised
technology to collaborate from both sides of the world, resulting in an uplifting and optimistic
response for 2021 and the future.
The Dartmoor & North West Australian inspired soundscapes meld electronics with the live
sounds of the Didgeridoo, flute, reeds, upright piano, rhythm sticks and etherial vocals.
Hemispheres shadows the human relationship with our closest star, moving from Dawn, through
an Adrenalin driven day, to an ecliptic Dusk. Prepare to be invigorated by the lightness yet depth
of sound, resonating through the spiritual heartbeat of aboriginal Australia with the cooling breath
of misty, timeless, Dartmoor.

The background behind the story.

The Australian artists/musicians Paul Rider-Boon , Clifton Bieundurry and British musician Chris
Caldwell first met on the European leg of Hugh Jackman’s World Tour in 2019. Whilst backstage,
there was much cricketing banter and in depth discussions about the mystical bowling of Shane
Warne, The Ashes and the the Flipper; little did they realise that they were planting the creative
seeds for this ear spinning Hemispheres release.

Sam Hodder was a veteran attendee of Latitude Festival by the age of 12, had composed his first
song before by the age of 6, and has recorded and produced an expanding library of individual
songs and albums. This release forms part of an extraordinary gap year and is a tour de force
which showcases his own unique indie style.

Susie Hodder-Williams is from a generation of flautists inspired by the brilliance of James Galway,
she has released albums exploring the meditative and healing qualities of music and its use in the
support of teenagers mental health and wellbeing. She works at the specialist music department
in the ancient cathedral city of Wells.

In March 2020 the whole of the world entered into an enforced hibernation. Starved of the
freedoms of performance musicians looked for new opportunities to share their skills and craft.

Hemispheres is a direct result of this, uniting both sides of the world through the creative healing
power of music inspired by the moors of the South West of England and the rich red landscapes
and aboriginal sounds of the incredible outback of North-West Australia.
