Live Music by Musele

The practice is the purpose.

Two moments recorded as part of an ongoing communal sound practice happening weekly on Sundays in downtown Oakland, California and broadcasting live across space. This collection is the first release documenting over two years of communal improvisation and spontaneous composition. Drones drone, horns blow, drums groove, and sonic landscapes evolve, dissipate, and breathe in these two nuagefreejazz meditations.

Side A comes to us from the first gathering of Musele friends and family. It is the sound of this project’s first time welcoming additional humans into an environment that had previously existed only virtually for listeners.

Side B represents a growth of the sounds and possibilities within that seed as gatherings have shifted and expanded, a standout from the broadcasted Sunday sessions.

The Musele Project is a sound, image, performance, and facilitation practice that encourages deep, empathic listening. Weekly on Sunday’s we gather and create long-form spontaneous compositions that traverse musical histories and invite exploration of our interior emotionality through drone, groove, repetition and free improvisation.
