“Jungle Warfare” is a series of “compositions” for - or, more accurately, from - the E-MU E6400 Ultra & Roland VP-9000 Variphrase Processor samplers, featuring additional DSP from the Eventide H90 Harmonizer. The only sound sources used in these pieces come from Zero-G’s “Jungle Warfare” collection of sample CDs, released between 1995 & 1997. Multiple samples are merged together with the E4’s “Transform Multiply” sample convolution algorithm, then sampled into the VP-9000 for access to real-time pitch-shifting, timestretching and formant shaping. The result is fed into the H90, and then into Ableton Live for multitrack recording and EQ via Eventide’s UltraChannel plugin.
No external MIDI control was used in the making of these pieces.
