the wondrous boy was born during the early months of the pandemic, encapsulating a time of lost potential, social isolation, and watching a lot of batman movies. started in the 437 square feet apartment we called home at the time, the album was a result of sharing bits and pieces of inspiration back and forth until we had full songs. honorary moodlighting member trav tech jones added in drums from san francisco, taking inspiration from sonic youth to bring a higher energy to the songs. once the band started playing shows in fall of 2021, new members kyle, hawley, and stephen added their own parts to create a dense, upbeat, eclectic album of tunes.
