Wandering Home by Model Son

With so many different and distorted views of the Christian faith rumbling around the world, I feel a constant need to be reminded, to remind myself, of who Jesus is. The one in the gospels, who deeply loved and pined for the marginalized, the sick, the wayward. People like me. These songs, which represent two decades of my faith in Jesus, are my attempt to stick to what I believe to be true about God. Not to take a stand on any political platform, but to truly internalize my hopes and my beliefs, that God sees us as his own beloved children, redeemed and made perfect when we acknowledge Jesus as our king and savior because of his voluntary execution on our behalf. This is the truth that makes me long for eternity, where I will exist in God’s own presence, fully loved and satisfied forever. In the meantime, I long to be the guy that God’s sees me as.

I hope these songs can offer a glimpse of this hope and help to dismantle distorted understandings that have accumulated in the course of living life on this fractured planet.

This album is a C-19 success story!

Some of the songs were written over a period of 20 years, often on the bathroom floor during my kids' bath times. Due to recent, unprecedented alone time, I recorded, mixed and mastered all of them during self-isolation for COVID19.
