Eclectic, eccentric, insane, maybe even deranged; there are many words you could use to describe Miya Lowe's output, but with a footprint spanning over ten years and dozens of releases, you can't deny that the 22-year old Sacramento-based maestro is anything but prolific. From the terminally online Evagirl (formerly Eva***) project, to the manic flips off her FIGURE SKATER alias, Miya's range as both a producer and a musician can't be understated enough. As a result, she's cultivated a hardcore, yet loyal audience following her where her sound takes her next.
"Restarter", the second project in a new series of club-adjacent EPs, sees Miya bringing her signature bit-crushed, sample-heavy, sub-rattling take on Chicago juke, Detroit electro, and beyond to Limiting Factor. From the ultra-grimy "Mainey" to the sample-heavy footwork opus "$$$erfbort", Miya proves she's not afraid to take risks and challenge expectations, pushing her sound further than before while maintaining the raw, borderline manic, energy that defines her work.
Just remember: this is just the beginning.
