Resistor by Micronaut
Resistor, Chris Randall's 8th release under the Micronaut name, continues the tradition of burbling analog synths and IDM-flavored beats he started in 1997 as a side project from industrial stalwarts Sister Machine Gun.
Resistor shows the evolution of the project from its beginnings as a diversion in to Chris' main form of artistic expression. The six tracks on Resistor share a common theme of vintage analog sounds coupled with modern electronic music production, but this EP stands on its own as the culmination of 10 years of experimental electronic music.
Resistor is the first of three planned stylistically similar EPs. Capacitor (released 4 Nov 10) and Transformer (due Q1 of 2011) continue the thematic evolution.
