Biome [CWR010] by Mersel
We're delighted to welcome back our friend Mersel for his second EP on the label. Since his first release in 2020, he has chosen to expand his artistic universe by presenting a more psychedelic techno approach infused with tangy tones that he crafts using modular systems and the legendary TB303 sounds.
His EP titled "Biome" reflects the ecosystems that surround us, defined by the vegetation and animal species that inhabit it. This concept of balance and symbiosis with the natural world served as inspiration for Mersel in creating this release, which combines organic and electronic sounds.
The EP kicks off with "High Plateaus," a slow and atmospheric ambient track that immerses us in a deep and rich landscape. The next track, named "Taiga," is a downtempo piece with catchy and textured trance-like bass lines. "Tundra" then epitomizes the focal point of this EP with a deeper techno sound, characterized by cyclical synthesizer movements and a frenetic rhythm. Finally, the last track plunges us into a heavy groove accentuated by ethereal pads and raw acidic bass lines.
