Martin Hossbach loves to hear cover versions. He is also a Pet Shop Boys fan. He therefore decided to ask his friends and favourite artists to cover a Pet Shop Boys song of their liking to be released on the sub-label Martin Hossbach Cover. Also, it was Neil Tennant’s 65th birthday on 10 July 2019 and Chris Lowe’s 60th on 4 October 2019 which were welcome occasions to celebrate Pet Shop Boys’ music.
All of the cover versions released so far can be found in a Spotify playlist entitled »Martin Hossbach Cover«. In addition, each song can be downloaded (and streamed) on all (other) digital platforms, too.
Pola X is a musician from Hamburg, Germany. She used to be a
member of Zucker, has worked with e.g. Erobique, Jens Friebe, Pantha du
Prince and Stella Sommer, wrote and performed music for several theatre plays, is recording her debut solo album and works as a voice actress. The accompanying music video for her cover of »Later Tonight« was directed by Thalea Luschnat.
The cover image for each release is a sketch, a drawing, a painting or a caricature of Pet Shop Boys. The illustration for »Later Tonight« also comes from Thalea Luschnat.
