I remember the time our eyes first met,
The smile that followed I'll never forget,
With a cat's pacing gait she crossed the room
An overload of emotions with a scent of perfume

Her red carpet outfit in electric blue,
A shock to all my senses.
Without thinking it thru,
What else could I do,
but Let down all my defenses

You were much too good a lover ,
to be more than just a friend.
A vixen under cover,
I hoped it wouldn't end.

Emotions breaking over me,
decisions of the heart,
Whatever is to be will be,
I knew that from the start.

Pleasure in disguise of pain,
would soon end in disaster.
I knew right away,
you'd deceive me some day
while hiding behind your laughter,

With the fire of the passion gone,
No longer being fed,
with nothing left inside to burn,
That too would soon be dead...

You might have called it passion,
you could have called it lust,
Starting as distraction
but ending in mistrust.

You were much too good a lover ,
to be more than just a friend.
But everything I'd hoped for
was coming to an end.
