Original recordings of Bdira recorded on K7 in 1989 by her son, Hassine Ben Rachid Bel Haj Youssef.
Bdira, also known as Little Moon, used to sing at celebrations and weddings. Jasser Haj Youssef
remembers the processions on the family farm, where she would lead singing and dancing
in the women’s circle - which has since been extended to include children. Bdira belonged to
a women’s religious sorority that practises Madaniya, a traditional dialect song.
