Beltane by Mama Tjutju

Beltane is the single from the upcoming EP Manchester Piano. The name Beltane is the name of the season between spring equinox and summer solstice - the season that begins May 1st. What signifies this moment in the years cycle is sprouts becoming flowers - before becoming fruit - and it is such a beautiful time where life opens up even more. There is a playfulness, a sensuality and a young adult atmosphere to this moment that we all can drink up every day in this season if we pay attention and surrender. This piano piece for me embodies some of that energy. For me personally, it is also a reference to the monthly cycle of women, before ovulation, which is characterised by enhanced desire for independence, freedom, sensual expression, desire and dreaming.
