As I take in the river and I stare down the road
I know I’ll drive through some storms before I’m home
I wonder if they’re waiting and I wonder if they’re gone
I wonder if this is a place I can still call home

I’ve been gone so long
My gypsy heart has taken me to places I belonged

Why I had to leave to find my own path
But this gypsy heart is coming home at last

I’ve traveled many miles and I’ve stood along the shores
My mind is full of pictures that my heart now calls home
I’ve met so many strangers I now call friends
I found my dreams were waiting at every trail’s end

I took you with me every place that I would go
I felt you hold me oh when life would bring me low
