Childlike Wonder is an album of alternative, progressive, electro-acoustic songs exploring the darker shades of the human experience - from psychological POVs, social stigmas, good ol' death, identity crisis' to other quirky concepts, the music is crafted with evocative lyrics and surreal musical riddles bending genre whilst rooted in rock & pop sensibilities.
The music is decadent, introspective, raw, and made from nearly a vacuum of Koda's vision & abilities.
The lyrics, which drove this record's direction, delve into deep emotional and existential themes, urging listeners to reflect on their own experiences and perspectives should one dare - irony, sarcasm are sprinkled through out the record with lines like
"Oversharing is my love language,
And your personality disorders turn me on..."
and
"There’s something right
With feeling wrong
When the poison
Is the medicine".
Vulnerability and honesty were the foundation of this album, as Koda stays brutally unafraid to divulge personal struggles, societal challenges, and the complexities of human relationships.
The tone varies from melancholic to rebellious and challenging, creating a multifaceted and captivating musical journey that can probably make the listener unsuspectingly drawn into a buffet of conundrums that are personal, social and spiritual.
