Destination: Sarajevo by Tony Stowers

In April 2004, after making contact with the Bosnian Embassy in London, Tony Stowers, with a commission of £500 to present an audio artwork to the public in Tyne and Wear, travelled from Newcastle-upon-Tyne in UK to Zagreb and Varazdin in Croatia and then took a train to Sarajevo in Bosnia. His mission: ask people what they wanted from art and culture and record their responses and his own observations onto a Sanyo minidisc recorder. And all in seven days!

During this 7-day journey he recorded his thoughts, feelings and observations as well as meeting old friends and ordinary people and various artists, painters, actors, writers, teachers etc.

This album is that journey.
