Bummed by Local Onlys
We recorded this album back in the winter of 2015--just a couple of college sophomores trying to make something we loved. Life got in the way--Julie's in med school, Mark and Jake wound up in video production... we had plans to make a huge deal out of this album being released, were going to handdub cassettes, do music videos... we even wrote a follow-up album where we imagined a reality where we got huge in Japan. But here it is.... 3 years later.... and we survived.
So, all we can really say is endless thanks to all of our friends who supported us at all basement shows, repping our Happy Fortune (rip) t-shirts, listening to our music, and just bein' our friends--we love you <3
Matthew Danger Lippman suggested that we should just put it out today--considering that its been done since 2015.. and ya know, shoutouts to everyone who made this possible--recording in Mark's cellar and sporadic dorm rooms, Justin Ford for being the best DIY studio engineer in the whole friggin' world, and all the people that listened to our ish and gave us feedback & the whole nine yards... There's been a buncha talk that this album was never going to come out, alas, its actually real.
