Time’s gonna work in all favours
Maybe someday you’ll see
I’m gonna paddle my boat to Makepeace Island
Whilst you’re hanging with sheep

On my way to Makepeace Island
Through the mangroves and reeds
I paddle my boat past Sheep Island
Just my old self and me

Spent my time on Sheep Island
It’s a little bit noisy with those pesky minors
It’s alright for a picnic or a Sunday arvo
But not someplace you should live

I see geckos, drongos, brush turkeys
Hey, I think that’s wild geese

I paddle my boat around Makepeace Island
My good self and me
There’s mangoes, fruit trees it’s warm and inviting
A place to just be

Bet they’re talking on Sheep Island
With the butcherbirds and the pee-wees
Where they feast on hurting and clambering higher
With their ‘friends’ under feet

Some like to rock a boat
Just to float their own
I’ll keep steady on
Whilst they’re making waves

As land my boat on Makepeace Island
My spirit it leaps
I step onto it’s heart-shape
I feel it’s vibrance
There’s love under feet

When you’re ready for Makepeace Island
Come and play with me
We’ll eat mangoes
Climb fruit trees and laugh til we’re crying
You won’t want to leave

If you want to come to Makepeace Island
Come visit me……Won’t come play with me… Won’t you come visit me……
