To me Bitter Moon is truly a highlight of my collaboration with Thalie, I used to feel very low at the time but when she sent me her vocals I was so excited I dreamt about Bitter Moon all night long. So then regardless the fact that the lyrics are quite sad and about love disillusionment and all, the song itself sounds really powerful and full of hope to me.
