A crimson filter pressed into my eyes
A primal fever feeding on my mind
This brand new thought occurred to me today
And I refuse to turn my head the other way.
A fracture in the fabric of my fears
A doorway to the darkest of ideas
I unleash my manifesto to the air
Venom on the breeze for everyone to share.

Tell me, who has the greater sin?
I forged the knife, she drove it in,
Unfit to face that bitter sting
This is my fate, I never win

A blinding light from a simple sight I wanted too much
Should I be so surprised that I burned alive at just one touch?

This one goes out to, you know who you are
The caustic angel who tore out my heart
Forgive me for caring, I’ll know better next time
You may have the anger, but the anguish is mine.
I’m only a child, I can’t help what I do
My thorns face in, but they’re hurting you
Apologies wasted, you won’t come back now
I may be descending, but I’ll never go down.

The pastures of my past are obsolete
‘Cause I’m haunted by a hurt I can’t defeat
I will wear it like a weapon in the end
Know my enemy, my agony, my friend.
Let the thoughts I had be smothered in the rage
Let the words I wrote be pulled out with the page
For everyone a cure, for me a curse
It’s just another thing to painfully rehearse.

Force the fingers down my throat
To regurgitate the oath
I never should have sworn to you (This was too good to be true)
Cast away my common sense
I won’t be needing it again
Some things you can’t outrun
Stick a knife in me, I’m done…
