FRATERNITY by LAWNMOWERS

Men created the current power structures. Men decided who is and isn't valued. Men have destroyed our communities. And it is men who are controlling the conversations around how we attempt to clear up the mess they have made.

FRATERNITY evaluates these themes, taking a swipe at what it means to be a modern day man; critiquing existing structures and relationships, and questioning the true motivations of the self-declared "male feminist". Inside we may find the true source of the pain and misery subjected to the world by the fraternity of powerful white men, suggesting that we not only need to question what and who we value as a society, but how we can better look after ourselves and our fellows.

Conceived back in rehearsal room sessions from late 2019, FRATERNITY was a long time coming and a product of a true DIY ethos. A small taste of what's to come from future LAWNMOWERS projects.

Proceeds of £150 were donated to a Bristol Families Community Food Share (www.bristolcommunityfoodshare.com) on the 15th Feb 2021. A further £100 was donated 5th Mar 2021. We will continue to pass on anything further received...

LAWNMOWERS create abrasive yet driving music, exploring dense and harsh sounds and embracing a DIY recording approach.

The name represents the sonic leanings of the band, but also comments on society's value systems where too much is syphoned by the few and those who actually contribute are left out to dry.

It's time we created our own value system. The grass is getting longer...
