Going Away by Lauren Wanamaker
'Going Away' began as a sarcastic songwriting session--a coping mechanism and an outlet for processing the pain of significant loss. Eventually, it turned into real-life motivation to prioritize myself and pursue personal and artistic growth. This track is the most stripped down of those that will appear on upcoming EP, Glitter. The intention of this simplicity was to evoke the feeling of being in a room with friends, singing or playing along to a spontaneous tune we can all relate to in one way or another. The result is a faithful representation of the spirit in which this song was created. I hope listening to 'Going Away' offers some comfort, silliness, inspiration and camaraderie to anyone who may feel stuck or dream of starting over.
