Last Legs by Last Legs

I didn’t know, at the time, that our early years (teens) would be the most explosive of our lives. Explosive in both negative and positive ways, a map of emotions where no matter where you turned, looked, or stumbled felt bigger & more important than it does now (adult years). When I began writing lyrics for these songs I had no intentions other than to write what the music inspired, conjured, and guided which for the most part seemed to be harkening me to this time of my life where rides on the Scrambler at the local fair, watching movies in basements, or scooping ice cream at the mall (yea, all pretty basic mundane suburban shit) seemed vital and important. I dug in and discovered my old friends and family while I tried to traverse my hometown that was still stuck frozen in time in my head which then lead me to a somewhat interesting notion that through the retelling of these banal events I had an opportunity to tap into the same desperation, loss, and emotional currents I still had running through me and that maybe it could be universal and others could sponge it up too. I feel ashamed that I don’t feel as deeply as I did back then, but I believe these songs make up for it
