Mercy Oceans by Lady Khadija
An appeal to concerns of a more personal and spiritual nature, Mercy Oceans by Lady Khadija is an intimate expression of a few things she hold most dear. The title a Capella track, Mercy Oceans, is an affectionate song of supplication where she bears her soul and exposes her unique mission as a poet and artist, while her gospel, Wade Children is a specific address to the children all over the world touched by the tragedy of natural disaster and the conflict of ghetto life. It is a song she calls her new ghetto spiritual and is widely becoming a signature pieces as she put her spin on the old negro spiritual, Wade in the Water and call the babies to heal and hold their heads high.
Then, finally in her song Be Myself- where she shares all three aspect of her performance ability; singing, spoken word, and guitar, she ponders her personal healing and makes peace with who she is and the things she has experienced. This track is a thank giving for all the lessons she has learned and the people who have helped her learn them. This Project is truly an example of what it means to be washed with words and song.
