The lord and lady walking, they wander off
Did not greet the bird that came to land
The lord took his pistol, aimed and fired
Left the bird to die in the sand

For many weeks he wondered about his kill
The Magpie that he ripped from life
But on his land another came to haunt
Dressed in black, he was looking for his wife
