"Where 'World In Ruin' was originally envisioned as 'goth meets metal,' and ended up becoming doom metal, this was doom metal from the get-go! With most of my past songs being fun times with high energy, I figured I'd rip your heart out this time! Getting a baritone guitar inspired this song and the sounds you hear; you can get all sorts of cool textures with them.

Lyrically, I heard of the concept of limerence and explored web pages on the subject. Something painful and miserable like this sounded like it would make for a perfect doom metal song! And no, this is NOT based on personal experiences. In fact, if you identify with the lyrics enough, I'd strongly advise seeking professional help.

But keeping in line with the lyrics, there are two sections: desire and reality. Desire is in 4/4, while reality is in 5/4; reality being the more jarring and weird section.

Something else of note are the female vocals by my friend, Stacie. Female vocals lend themselves amazingly with dark songs such as this."
