He played a slow, gorgeous, cinematic waltz on the guitar. The Empire State Building waltzed toward me through the blue-and-pink sky and all the other buildings glowed and waltzed with it and the first stars winked down on all of us and I knew it was one of the most romantic moments of my life, that I'd dreamed about forever, and that I was doing it by myself, for myself, not for anyone else, and that I would remember this night always. And I cried.
