Yes I seem to be back. Another one of my long retirements from music that lasted about as long as an interval in a Frank Sinatra concert.
I doubt anyone ever came back to this site in the hope that I'd stop doing very repetitive music. And if there was any doubt, this one will forever seal my reputation here in the household name of my own household. Or something like that.
Incidentally while walking past TK Maxx this morning I was startled to have some shoe-less miscreant scream the c-word several times in my direction. It took a few seconds for me to realise that he was actually screaming at a couple of policemen who were right behind me - possibly tailing me as a suspect into Crimes Against Music.
Rather than arrest the screamer, the policemen (yes they were both men) both giggled like little girls and nervously shuffled along behind me - almost using me as a human shield.
How depressing. I am growing tired of city life. Town feels increasingly unfriendly. It might just be the pandemic and how it's made so many people jumpy. But I visit lots of places large and small in the south and nowhere else feels as unfriendly as dear old Southampton.
I know how impulsive I am and one day soon, quite unplanned, I shall just march into one of the estate agents down London Road and ask them to zap my home onto the market. In the meantime, when not making music, I shall be out in my garden shed working on the blue plaque that I shall stick on the front of this house.
We live in a new world where there are no famous musicians anymore - the only "current" names I can think of are Adele and Ed Sheeran and I swear to god I'm not even sure if that's his (Ed's) exact name and I have never knowingly heard any of his music - obviously I'm sure I have, in restaurants etc, but I've never known it's him etc etc etc etc.
Well I won't pretend to be Adele or Ed S when I do my blue plaque. I shall be myself. Fifteen followers on Bandcamp !!!!! Sometimes, about once every month or so, someone even downloads one of my albums !!!!!! That's quite famous enough. And to hell with the fact that my plywood blue plaque will probably knock thousands off the value of this place.
