“Derealization is an alteration in the perception of the external world, causing sufferers to perceive it as unreal, distant, distorted or falsified.”
The photo in the artwork is from my trip to Japan in 2018, which at this point is already starting to feel like a hazy dream. I thought this image of Nishiki Market captures that feeling of sensory fog and separation from reality quite well.
