KOMOREBI by Josie Lawrence
This music, so dear and precious to me, came from my year-long research project: “The Girl from Ipanema: Honoring the Legacy of Astrud Gilberto Through Song.”
A handful of these compositions are based on information on Astrud’s life taken from interviews, articles, her own website, and interviewing close collaborator Mark Lambert. These are all fictional imaginings, written with care, intending to tribute Ms. Gilberto.
