Can you look in the mirror everyday and truthfully tell yourself that you are lovable, likable, worthy of life, acceptance, and celebration? Do you see somebody filled with flaws, mistakes, shortcomings, imperfections and threads coming apart at the seams, and still accept that person as someone worthy of respect, care and love? We are imperfect creatures, incomplete and faulty machines of biological circumstance, we never get to choose where we're born, who we grow up around, what outside forces dictate our lives, who gets to stay, and who gets to leave. People will cause you pain, but if you only cut yourself off from the world, you will stagnate. You will never truly reach new plateaus, we must learn to live with the pain, but that isn't all there is in this life.

Despite all the problems we tend to find in ourselves, despite the issues we may wrongly blame ourselves for having or have caused, despite the lack of love, not just from others, but from ourselves, there is always room for you. There is always someone there who would never look the same way at the world, if you were suddenly gone. There is always somebody who looks up to you, who cares for you, who sees the beautiful thing for which you are. There's always someone who will listen, who will share their warmth, who will openly weep with you and let you know that you aren't alone. There is always somebody who thinks of you, even if you don't know it or even notice. You can never truly know how much you mean to somebody, even if you think you have a pretty good idea.

You are a wonderful person, you are lovable, you are worth the time you think you have wasted for others, you are not a burden upon others shoulders, you are not anybody but who you decide you are.

The truth is fragile, malleable, and different for every single person on this planet. And only you can truly decide your worth, nobody else has that power. Only you, have that power. So don't let your negative self talk, your mistakes, your own incomplete perspective decide who you are, or how much you really mean to others.

You are worth more than you truly know.

This is my struggle, this is the struggle of every person I have ever known, and it's something we have to grapple with constantly, and it comes and goes in waves of fear and love, like the tide rolling in on the beach. Every song on this record, in one way or another, was fueled by this struggle. This my heart, and I open it up to you.

I will not feel shame for what I am and what I create.
