Clear out your mind

I dropped a rock and the ripples went out
I don’t believe in a second chance

I like the chrome on your brand new dome
You never change on the inside
It comes across when you’re back on the sauce
I write the songs that are way too long
Too many words that no one’s heard
I raise my voice ‘cause I don’t have a choice
Jazz is a long winded long lost friend
Some people have tenor saxophone mouth
A run-on sentence till their veins pop out
I chewed my face from the inside
Not even sure what I’m running from
All I wanna know is when can I stop
I hear tinnitus when I quiet my mind
It’s better than my neurotic thoughts
But I prefer the racket when my neighbors bang pots
I tossed the Batchelor button right back in the bay
From the bench where you gave it to me
Where the tweakers rap and the seagulls crap
Nobody cares if your love is real
Don’t ever give your power away
They’ll lock it up and they’ll make you pay
