Memphis Souvenirs by John Carbonara

Back in the early 1990's, I was invited by Jody Stephens to come and record my original songs at Ardent Studios under a production deal. These ten songs are the result.

Although it didn't culminate in a record deal, this was an exciting time for me and very musically satisfying. Jody and all the Ardent staff welcomed this Boston boy to Memphis with open arms and made me feel like part of the family. As did the top tier musicians I was blessed to have playing my songs.
An "all Memphis" band recruited by Joe Hardy - including Stax veterans Andrew Love, Lester Snell and William Chester Brown.

I owe a big debt to the great Joe Hardy (RIP) who so superbly produced, engineered and mixed these tracks.
And many thanks to Jody Stephens for getting me there in the first place and for his immense support and
encouragement throughout.

So yeah, It took a minute, but here at last are my long lost Ardent recordings, my "Memphis Souvenirs"
