Preamble by Jodi Lee Smith
A dark, contemporary rendition of the blues, "Letter to the Fabled Damned" tells the story of the Wise Witch, a powerful being who resurrects herself to deliver a fatal message to humanity, "Either live with greater care or die at your own hands." She goes unheard and descends into madness, exacting her revenge by destroying the very people she returned to save. In regret, she commands her body back to the earth but is rejected by the soil, forced instead to spend eternity as a howling wind.
