It’s plain to see it’s our economy
Blowing like chaff in the wind
If you and me could find it in our personalities
Maybe we don’t have to do this


Well I’ve been here quite a few times
And I know this sounds pretty bad
But I’ve danced to the rodeo chimes
And each time I sound pretty mad

I’m babbling, brook stabbing
Took an army down to the Mississippi
Estocato, through the bottle
That I filled with salty seas

It’s plain to see it’s our economy

And I found out from a note from the past I wrote a couple days ago
The only way I mustered up the mustard seeds to plant a hero

And I’ve got a voice that cut all the charm right out of my mouth
And I visit dinner parties and talked to everyone but you
Cos’ you were upstairs with a lens flare
Staring down a couple of French pairs
And I wonder if I ever really quite fit in

Cos’ a worldview’s something different when
You pull down the medicine
Sometimes when I feel this way, Canadian tents
It’s like there’s only the two of us in this room

So I compartmentalize everything that happened
