Lyrics
This one’s for the woman who was always there for me
She was there when I fell just to bandage up my knee
Talkin’ bout the woman I call my mom
Long late nights of worrying longer days of working hard
Teaching from the good book that I so often disregard
She was there, was there through it all
This one’s for the woman who celebrated when I won
She was there when I failed and said my time would come
And it gets dark right before the dawn
Broken glasses, spilled perfume, cracked eggs, and carpet stains
Legos under her bare feet and all my selfish ways
Talking bout, talking bout my mom
Every day I know she prayed
I’d find my way, God bless her faith,
Bravery, fortitude, and grace
My bouquets of dandelions were roses in her eyes
Now I sure hope that she’d enjoy a few simple lyric lines
So for her, for her I wrote this song
All about, all about my mom.
