Poolside by Jetfire Prime

Welcome to Poolside, a place where all your Summer dreams can come true. I really wanted this album to awaken feeling of nostalgia. Not necessarily for the 80s but nostalgia of a place where you feel right. I wanted to try and capture that enthusiasm of going somewhere that you love and having it to yourself for a little while but then you get to share that place with friends, family and complete strangers.

That was the starting point anyway and that's where the first track Opening Up came from. From there I worked on the remaining 5 songs really quickly and it became apparent to me that a kind of story was developing, perhaps even (whisper it) a concept album about the people who work, live and breathe at the local pool. As the story developed a few characters began to appear to me. Opening Up is the bright, happy teenager who is lucky enough to have scored an awesome Summer job but the Janitor and Pool Cleaner represent something else entirely. They're the dark side, people with a past who perhaps work at the pool to cover up their real lives that exist at night in the underbelly of a far more dangerous world.

So there you go, a story was never my intention but it happened and now I've created this mini world in which these characters live I think I will definitely return to it in the future. We shall see!
