Illumine by Jed Wilson & Tony Falco
Recorded in one day at Acadia Recording Company in Portland, Maine, this album was totally improvised. We entered each piece without plans or preconceptions. To our pleasant surprise, all kinds of unique structures and shapes emerged, moments both poignant and playful, tempestuous and tender. Listening back, we so enjoyed what spontaneously occurred in the open space of improvisation that we decided to share the totality of the day's work. We decided to call it Illumine in order to reflect the experience of a flash of light or inspiration—that uncanny experience in which the terrain of the known is briefly transcended and something unprecedented emerges.
