Abandoned Ground by Jared Cathey
Nearly ten years in the making, Abandoned Ground is a collection of compositions by Jared Cathey written specifically for this line-up of Oklahoma-based musicians. These works and the group's artistic direction are inspired by a wide range of creative American voices from the proto-bebop sensibilities of Lester Young to the visionary insights of Kurt Rosenwinkel and Mark Turner.

Composer and arranger Jared Cathey is a versatile multi-woodwindist and educator based in Colorado. He has performed and/or recorded with musicians such as Carmen Bradford, Melissa Aldana, Dan Miller, Quincy Davis, Veronica Swift, the Ari Hoenig and Ben Markley Big Band, the Zaremba Jazz Fellowship, and has had the honor of subbing on tenor sax in the legendary Count Basie Orchestra.
