Headfirst Dive from Jake Whiskin by Jake Whiskin

I was really excited when I wrote this song but couldn’t quite get it right, I made so many different demos and never felt like it quite lived up to what it sounded like in my head. My producer Lee threw me out of my comfort zone, as he loves to do, and we tracked a live version that sounded totally 90’s rock and that informed where we took the track. It freaked me out and I was on the fence at first but he just kept doubling down and making everything more distorted which was pretty funny. The next day I came into the studio and it blew my head off, sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to make something worth while.
