As we turn to look behind
We gaze into their cold white eyes
A million corpses to remind
Our failures and those left behind

We can’t outrun, we can’t retreat
- Red is the shade of our shame
Atrocities on corpses’ feet
- The faceless dead have no names
Marching slowly to the beat
- Through the fire through the flames
Where is our humanity?
- In the blood soaked grounds we have stained

And through the dark they still deny
- Gallivanting at death’s side
Upon Death’s horse they ride with pride
- Their sneering faces filled with flies
They cast our lives to the hands of God
- Hateful Verses to hide behind
A god that forgot to exist
- A scapegoat for abuse and lies
Tossing our lives into the wind
- We all fall prey to ignorance

And hate was spilling from their tongues
While the fire was burning in our lungs

And still they could not see
That death before them was their own
And Death came knocking at their homes

And we have crawled on hands and feet
With what remained of a withered corpse
No gods, no mercy, no remorse

Picked apart by hungry crows
Hiding in the the dark shadows
To avoid the sun
To avoid the plague
To avoid the grips of Death
To avoid what we have done
