Pramantha from Pramantha by Jack DeSalvo

Like predecessor recordings My Goals Beyond by John McLaughlin and Bill Connors’ Theme To The Guardian on ECM, Jack DeSalvo gives his music a most personal rendering utilizing only six and 12-string acoustic guitars and includes perhaps his most well-known piece, Pramantha. Pramantha, written by Jack DeSalvo, is a Sanskrit precursor to the Greek name Prometheus and means maker of fire (as in rubbing two sticks together).

JACK DeSALVO developed his extraordinary guitar style from a deep immersion into jazz, classical guitar and his own prolific compositional output. He has studied with Bill Connors, Leonid Bolotine, Ariada Mikéshina, George Russell and at Berklee. He is a professional musician, composer, recording artist and record producer for Unseen Rain Records. He has toured the world with many jazz greats.
