ReGenerationx [Ø] by Istvan Peter B'Racz

The selections on this album are entirely improvised.

The only exception is the first piece:
where I had pre-selected (by rolling the dice) five notes to start with.

The others are complete unfettered improvisations with no goal in mind, other than sonic travels.

I emptied my mind, and let my body go where it went-
while being a listener, conductor, and a sort of structural engineer.

SIDE STORY:

Why "Regeneration"? Several months ago I sliced my thumb pretty bad, and it took quite some time for me to regain the full use of it. I have been playing and re-habbing it for the last few months now, so this is a type of victory for me, and it is a Regeneration, actually. Now that the nerves seems to be back and the muscles are working, it has only gotten better. I have full usage and abilities now, and I am so incredibly grateful the injury was not worse.

Recorded on two different nights
in the Dungeon, in Hamden, Connecticut
using 2 ADK matched condenser Lolly mics on a Mason & Hamlin BB grand

This album, and possibly those following, are essentially a diary of my new piano:
the replacing of the action, new hammers, eventual replacing of the damper system,
muting vibrations and Wolf-tones, regulation, and voicing.

It is especially wonderful to hear an instrument as it unfolds through its rebirth and regrowth.
I'm looking forward to when this instrument has reached its fullest maturity, which will be soon.

It means the world to me, and I will continue to document my journey improving this lovely instrument- bringing it to its full potential, with more and more recordings.
