Mid-West Weird is a set of 8 cassette releases, in 2 batches, celebrating our love of improvised sound. 'Mid-West' is a loose term here...its inspiration, rather than exact location!

Formed in 2011, the Chicago-based duo Maar (Joseph Clayton Mills and Michael Vallera) have released a series of dense, hypnotic records that absorb influences ranging from musique-concrete and synth-driven minimalism into a distilled musical vision

Each of the cassettes in the series are accompanied by postcard art based on the photography of Michael Vallera
