Dear person listening,
Have you ever felt like no one sees you, especially God? Many of us go through life experiencing this feeling of being invisible. Maybe no one sees you at school or at work or maybe you feel like God isn't paying attention to your pain and suffering.
As a teenager I saw my dad slip back into his old life but worse. It's like, if you try to stop drinking and go to church, when you slip up, you get 7 times more demons that you had before. My dad would drink himself nearly to death, having to be hospitalized and his stomach had to be pumped. He started doing drugs, became more abusive, and being older I would stand up to him to protect my mom and brother from his drunken rages. I would stay up til 3 and 4 in the morning on school nights until he passed out to make sure he didn't hurt my mom. I remember some nights he would threaten suicide. We had physical altercations, yelling matches, even a knife was involved one time which is the scariest encounter a 13 year could have with his father. At this point I had to wonder, where are you God? Do you see me? Do you see us? Why are we going through this? What did we do to deserve this? Looking back I can say, He did see us and though it was painful, peace was soon to come.
