Constellation from Audiography by HUW
The influences are clear in this track, echoes of instrumental hip hop and jazz from Mo Wax to Verve and back again. Mike’s beats are heavily compressed and distorted, like they’ve been sampled and crushed, then hammered out on an MPC. Set this against improvised sax lines and atmospheric loops; it’s a piece we get lost in when we play it live.
