magical creatures.

We live here-
in a box inside another box,
but the animals are playing
and the sun is setting.

There’s giant trees
with leaves larger than your face,
where tree frogs give you smiles
make you laugh for a while.

Mermaids live
in a sea we’ll pass along the way.
I spoke to them and they are
calling your name.

Come and see my happy place.

Last time I
traveled there by myself.
I saw a fern made
perfectly of glass from the sea.

But this time, come.
We’ll take my secret passageway.
Did you ever think you’d travel
through stars in the sky?

on wings made from beans you re-fried?
Before you close your eyes,
remember you might fall.
