I thought it was the moon
A sign that read coming soon
Shining in the sky

The stars replaced by streetlights
A poor attempt to make it right
This artifice is dull

Smoke and steam rise in patterns
Cognate of constant chatter
Neither seems to last

Every corner hosts bright signs
Every business reaches blind
This is the machine of humanity
Among these many cogs there's me

Work all day, what does money cost
