Hido Calling by Hido

31 tracks might seem like a long album but all the tracks are under 30 seconds, many of them less than 10 seconds. They are designed to be ringtones and alerts for your cellphone.

Even so, consuming the whole album takes the same time as consuming a whole sandwich. It's recommended that you do both at the same time.

Try including these tracks with other songs on your music player and tiny instrumental interludes will randomly appear between your other songs. Fun!

Other than the ringtones, there are a few tracks that are only one second long so they can be used as text message alerts and other alarms.

Many of the tracks are rearrangements of themes from our previous recordings as Hido and Def Jeopard (the houseband for Our Town Cafe's trivia night). There's also some bits from the Hired Hands (our name when we're invited to act as someone's backing band) and the Seawailers (us, plus bass guitarist English Dave). So it's credited to all four bands.

Instructions for iPhones: download AAC versions, then change the extension from .m4a to .m4r. Double click, and it will go into iTunes in the "Tones" section. Sync with your iPhone and the new ringtones will now be available.

Ringtones can be downloaded in mp3, FLAC, ALAC (Apple Lossless), AAC or Ogg Vorbis formats.
