Very happy to say, another release by Herknungr this year.
A bit shorter than my usual 40 min length. An album about war, life and death in the viking age. You could say it is a continuation of my previous works. I think this album definitely draws parallel to our current age, in inner mental wellbeing wars and dealing with death, in unexpected ways.
As everyone knows, I am massively inspired by works of Danheim, Munknorr, Fuimadane and Ulf Söderberg.
Herknungr is a project that explores ancient
culture but primarily norse aspects. It was
formed over a love of ambient music, ritual
and folk music.
The aim of Herknungr is to provide a very rich
sound in coherence to viking era culture. To set
an authentic sound of the ancient nordic zeigeist.
Using instruments of our forebears over 1000 years
ago. With a modern twist in production.
