Avoidance by Alex Heffron

This music comes from a time in the pandemic when I was feeling especially connected to the tradition and lineage of Jazz. With the future looking bleak I wanted to look back at the music that first drew me to jazz. I was inspired by the work of Bird and Diz, Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh, and other two horn groups. I wrote songs in the style of these groups and my band does an excellent job of highlighting these different influences and bringing a vibrant original style to the music. They treat my music with incredible honesty and bring such beauty to every note.

Alex Heffron is a jazz guitarist located in Denver, CO. Alex received his BM in Jazz Guitar at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has performed with Kenwood Dennard, John Reily, Matt Wilson, Melvin Butler, Tony Monaco, Pat Coil, Bobby Floyd, Greg Gisbert, Corey Christiansen, John Von Ohlen, Marvin Stamm, Cody Moffet, Howard Levy, and Donald Harrison.
